- To join, renew or donate by mail, print and complete the 2012 TLA Membership Form and mail in to the address listed on the form along with your donation.
- To join, renew or donate online, use the Google checkout below. Please also print and complete the 2012 TLA Membership Form and mail it to the address listed on the form.
- Once yearly, you will receive a membership and donation form to renew your membership.
- As a benefit to members, you will receive regular e-newsletters updating you on the latest news on Tomahawk Lake and free admission to the yearly summer picnic.
Fundraising in 2012: Lake Property Owners Asked to Contribute “Fair Share”
Dear Tomahawk Lake Neighbor,
Like you, I’m looking forward to more great lake memories this year. A shared love of “our lake” is the main reason the Tomahawk Lake Association (TLA) exists. I’m writing to ask your help in preserving its beauty.
Last year, TLA inaugurated the “Fair Share” to help control invasive species in our lake. As a result, we successfully raised $74,456 and engaged more lake enthusiasts in contributing to our cause. However, we did not achieve our goal of 75 percent participation among the 400 lake property owners – only 195 property owners participated last year.
This year, our goal is to raise $75,500 by securing Fair Share contributions from 75 percent of lake property owners.
We have a tough battle ahead. In 2012, we plan to treat more Eurasian Water Milfoil (EWM) infested acres. In addition, we are working with the DNR & UW Lake Specialists to introduce a new chemical free weevil program to supplement our ongoing fight against EWM. To achieve our goal, we need your help:
- First, please make your tax deductible $270 Fair Share contribution. Although our budget is higher due to more treatment acreage, we’re keeping the Fair Share contribution at the same level as 2011.Enclosed is a membership and donation pledge form outlining the benefits of participation. Payments can be made yearly, quarterly or monthly and can be charged to a credit card.
- Second, help us spread the word. Take a look at last year’s donor list (enclosed) to see if your friends and neighbors are participating. If not, convince them! We encourage your children and grandchildren and others who love the lake, to donate as a “Friend of the Lake.”
We are faced with a challenge on a scale that has never before threatened this lake. If we act now, together, we can stop it. Please do your part today!
