The Year in Review 2010

To all of you who aren’t able to be here right now, sooooooooooo sorry!

Indian Summer has finally arrived in the North Woods, and although the nights are frosty, the days have been heating up into the mid 50’s (or higher) for several days in a row. Coupled with a good deal of sunshine, and what were perhaps the countries very best fall color display, this October was one of the best on record – if enjoying the great northern outdoors is the goal. And it definitely is the goal of yours truly.

Fundraising Changes for 2011: Lake Property Owners Asked to Contribute “Fair Share”

Every year, the TLA works hard to keep EWM under control – and this year’s results are a tremendous success. However, EWM will never be completely eradicated from our lake, given the nature of its reproductive qualities. We must remain vigilant in treating it annually. But controlling aquatic invasive species can’t be accomplished without the funds to support chemical treatments, the Hydraulic Conveyor System (HCS) and educational campaigns such as Clean Boats Clean Waters.

TLA Exceeds Goals in 2010 Thanks to Members, Donors and Volunteers

This year, the TLA set aggressive benchmarks for the organization in reducing EWM, increasing membership, raising funds and educating the community. Across all measures, the organization, its volunteers and donors, exceeded goals.

To more effectively raise funds to keep Tomahawk Lake beautiful, the Association is starting its “Angel Giving” drive and is looking for Association members to donate funds to cover specific and concrete projects and activities planned for 2010.

Membership drive at 30% of 2010 Goal

In January, membership renewal forms were sent to the Tomahawk Lake Association mailing list and already 90 lake enthusiasts have renewed their membership.
